St. John’s College in Cambridge is one of Britain’s best-known institutions for choral scholars and chamber musicians with its own chapel and dedicated practice rooms. Despite its thriving classical music community, there are limited facilities for contemporary musicians.
Working in close collaboration, Eldwin saw an opportunity to develop the College’s outreach to talented contemporary performers by creating a dedicated practice space and recording studio.
We developed a clear concept and roadmap for the project, raised the funds required and created a beautiful but cost-effective design based on untreated wood and natural fabrics. Working alongside the College’s contractors, we oversaw construction and managed the project through to completion.
